I wrote an article over at Your Daily Thread this week on rain barrels and one company, RainBud in Los Angeles, that makes them.

What's a rain barrel? A simple drum you hook up to your downspout so the rainwater flows from your roof, collecting in your barrel. Later, affix a hose and water your plants with goodness from the heavens--for free.

You are invited to read it here:

"Rainbud: Collect Free Rain, Make Your Garden Blossom."

There are other companies too if you don't live where I do.

I've heard good things about Aquabarrel (endorsed on the sidebar by Homegrown Evolution) and have one friend who ordered hers for a hundred bucks from Home Depot.
