Meadowimg.jpgm o r e (eco-mats for your rooms)

Want one for your room? Mention lim(b) with your phone or e-mail order and get 20% off your naturally lovely new mat!

Raku makes traditional Japanese mats from a traditional Japanese fiber--rush (Igusa). It's natural, renewable, and biodegradable. And get this, rush is said to be a natural air purifier! It's a plant, and like any plant it has sponge-like capabilities to soak up air impurities. It also balances moisture in your home to help dry it out or moisten it, depending on what's going on in your space's atmosphere. Amazing stuff, right?

I know you're thinking there can't be more that's healthy and eco about a rug, but there is. The folks at Raku also use a natural oil, aomori hiba, in the fibers, an antibacterial, deodorizing essence. It even naturally repels insects like allergy-inducing dust mites! I'm totally floored (pun intended).

There are meditation mats, and totally playful mats for kids as well. (Check out this elephant in the room!)

We all know that carpet harbors dust, mold, and all manner of creatures (not to mention being made from synthetics and often backed with toxic PVC). But sometimes, you still want a little padding under your feet or a way to make a space into an inviting nook to hang out in. Enter ancient yet modern Asian mats made from only good stuff.
